Masters and DMA Student Daniel Shineberg Presents at Regional Conference

The Conservatory is pleased to note that Master of Arts-Music Therapy student Daniel Shineberg, who is also working on his DMA in flute performance with Dr. Mary Posses, will present his research paper "The Practical use of Music, Improvisation, and Mindfulness to Treat Adolescents Suffering From Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" at the Midwest American Music therapy Regional Conference in Iowa City, IA, March 16–18, 2018.  The presentation focuses on the use of vibroacustic  therapy and guided meditations to decrease the emotional and physical manifestations caused by PTSD in adolescents at a residential psychiatric facility.  Daniel's research is supervised by Dr. Robert Groene and UMKC alum CharCarol Fisher, MA, MT-BC.

Daniel also has a BM from University of Wyoming and an MM in flute performance from Boise State University.
