The Conservatory is pleased to note the winners of the 2017 UMKC Chamber Music Composition Competition.
First Prize: Morgan Greenwood: At one moment gleaming bright for viola and percussion.
Second Prize: Jonathan Booker: De somniis for viola and piano, and
Adam Strawbridge: Even Bearing GiRs for alto saxophone and piano
Morgan is an MM student. Jonathan is a DMA student and Adam is an MM student.
Thanks to the judges Stephen Taylor and Rand Steiger. The pieces were performed at the March 9, 2017 Musica Nova concert. Thanks also to Dr. Zhou Long and Ben Stevenson.
