The Conservatory is pleased to note that Dr. Nick Petrella, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Percussion, recently returned from the UK where he was invited to coach a performance of Xenakis’ Persephassa at the CBSO Centre. It was a joint collaboration between percussionists from the Birmingham Conservatoire and The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
The performance was a hit and the ensemble had five curtain calls from the packed house! In addition to coaching, Dr. Petrella presented a series of master classes for the percussion studio at the Conservatoire.
