The Conservatory is pleased to note that Bobby Watson's new album, Made in America, with Stephen Scott, Curtis Lundy, and Lewis Nash, Smoke Session Records, has rated four stars in Downbeat Magazine. Reviewer John McDonough notes that the album "presents a series of short portraits of notable—if not always well known—African-American achievers." He continues, "The original material is tuneful, relatively simple, and never gets in the way of Watson's straightahead, bebopish flow."
The album also gets reviewed as Jazz CD of the Month on KIOS, Omaha Public Radio.
