Musicology Alum Troy Cummings Pens Book Chapter

The Conservatory is pleased to note that Troy Cummings (MM, musicology, 2013), contributed a chapter, which grew out of his master's thesis, to the book Anatomy of Sound: Norman Corwin and Media Authorship by Jacob Smith and Neil Verman, eds. (University of California Press), 2016.  Cummings' chapter is Media Primer: Norman Corwin's Radio Juvenilia. Happily, this text has won the Kraszna Krausz book award for moving image.

Since 1985 the Kraszna-Krausz Foundation Book Awards have been the UK’s leading prizes for books on photography and the moving image. Winning books have been those which make original and lasting educational, professional, historical and cultural contributions to the field.

In addition to the Book Awards, the Foundation contributes to the First Book Award, in partnership with MACK. The recipient of this prize works alongside MACK to realize a monographic book project of previously unpublished work.

The Foundation also presents awards recognizing an Outstanding Contribution to Publishing and a Fellowship in Photography.

Congrats!
