Composition Students Adam Strawbridge and Bo Li Are International Winners

The Conservatory is pleased to announce that two composition students have won Music From China International Composition Competition Prizes Adam Strawbridge, second year MM, is the MFC Co-Winner for his piece The Rutulian.  Bo Li, second year DMA student has won the Excellent Composition Award for his piece Song of Chuncheng.  The works will premiere in New York City, November, 2017.

Since 1984, Music From China has brought the best of Chinese music – traditional and contemporary – to audiences in the New York area and beyond.  The purpose of the annual Music From China International Composition Competition is to promote and encourage the creation of new Chinese instrumental music. The competition draws submissions from Asia, North America and Europe and forms the basis of the Music From China Prize. The winners (up to three, plus commendations) receive a New York premiere.
