Junior Josiah Sprankle has won the 2017–2018 Young Composers Competition sponsored by Arden and Harry Fisher, Community Music School, Webster University. Sprankle is the winner in the level two (17–21 years of age) section with his composition Sanguine and Phlegmatic.
Winners of the competition have their works performed by professional musicians and recorded as part of the Emerging Composers Concert held at the Community Music School, March 24, 2018, 3 p.m., Webster University, 535 Garden Ave., Webster Groves, MO.
Winners recieve individual feedback on their work from guest composer Kyong Mee Choi, Head of Music Composition and an Associate Professor of Music Composition at Roosevelt University, Chicago.
