Composer Zhou Long Selected for The Thousand Talents Program

The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to note that Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and Conservatory faculty Zhou Long, was one of only ten individuals to be honored with selection to the Thousand Talents Program by the China’s Central Organization Department, as announced by Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China.  Dr. Zhou Long is the first member of SUSTech’s staff to be selected under the Cultural and Artistic Talents Project.

"The Cultural and Artistic Talents Project is one of eight sub-programs of the “Thousand Talents Program,” one of the national talent programs organized by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. It aims to nurture and encourage local talent development while playing an important role in bringing high-level overseas talent to China. This combination of domestic and foreign talent is important for the cultural development of higher education in China."
