UMKC Conservatory Opera Wins NOA Award

The Conservatory is pleased to announce that our Spring 2018 opera La voix humaine, directed by former Conservatory opera director Fenlon Lamb, with Jefferson Ridenour (Scenic Designer), Hector Quintero (Lighting Designer), and Kris Kirkwood (Projections Designer) has won first place in division V of the National Opera Association's 2017–2018 Opera Production Competition.  

Additionally, UMKC Opera's Fall 2018 opera La finta giardiniera (The pretend garden-girl) has been named a finalist in NOA's upcoming Collegiate Opera Scenes competition, and has been invited to present at the national convention in Salt Lake City, UT, January 2019. La finta is directed by guest Rachel Harris and conducted by faculty Michelle Alexander. The set was also designed by Jefferson Ridenour.
