Conducting Alum Luis Viquez Has First CD Released

The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to note that Dr. Luis Víquez (DMA orchestral conducting, 2017), who is assistant professor of clarinet, and director of orchestras at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, has had his first CD as a conductor just released in Costa Rica by MUSTICA Records. Costa Rica desde Afuera (Costa Rica from Abroad) was recorded with Dr. Víquez conducting the Heredia Symphony Orchestra, which is one of Latin America's major orchestral ensembles.

The CD features the live recording of the world premiere of works by four Costa Rican composers who live in Europe and the United States. More information and track samples are here.
