William Everett's New Book Performing Music History is Available

The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to note that Curators' Distinguished Professor of Musicology Dr. William Everett's new book, Performing Music History: Musicians Speak First-Hand about Music History and Performance, edited by Dr. Everett, John Tibbetts, and Michael Saffle is available. Conservatory composition professors Dr. Chen Yi and Dr. Zhou Long are interviewed in the book.

Dr. Everett presented the paper "The Skins of Galavant: Performing Race, Gender, and Social Class in a Medievalist Musical Comedy for Television" at the 42nd Annual Conference of the Mid America Medieval Association at the University of Kansas, Sept. 22, 2018. He also wrote program notes on Joseph Haydn's Overture to Lo speziale and Jean Belmont Ford's Vocalise for the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra's concert, Sept. 27, 2018.
