The Conservatory is pleased to note that senior composition student Laura Whitney (who enters the MM composition program at the Conservatory, Fall, 2019) has been accepted to the highSCORE Festival, Pavia, Italy, August 5–17, 2019, near Milan. She will compose a work for solo viola, which will be premiered by violist Katsiaryna Shapachka during the festival.
Laura has also been recognized by the 2019 Missouri Composers Project for her piece 3 Teachings on Poverty. She was given an honorable mention for her composition.
