Conservatory's Volker Brass to Compete in MTNA Nationals

The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to announce that Volker Brass: UMKC Conservatory Graduate Fellowship Brass Quintet will travel to Spokane, Washington in March, 2019 to compete as a National Finalist in the MTNA Chamber Wind Competition.

Volker Brass earned this opportunity after winning the West Central Division of the Chamber Wind Competition. Volker Brass’s members are Joon Park, DMA, trumpet performance; Andrew Stadler, DMA trumpet performance; Maria Nyikos, MM, horn performance; Brent Mead, MM trombone performance; and Patrick Yeh, MM, tuba performance. The group is coached by Prof. Thomas Stein.

The MTNA Chamber Wind Competition takes place Saturday, March 16, during the MTNA National Conference. The national winner of this competition receives a cash prize and will perform in a Winners Concert during the conference.
