The UMKC Conservatory's production of Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera (the pretend garden-girl) November 15–17, 2019, won second place in Division VIII in the National Opera Association's 2018–2019 Production Competition. The opera was directed by Dr. Rachel Harris, conducted by Conservatory faculty Dr. Michelle Alexander, set designed by Jefferson Ridenour, and the original concept was by former Conservatory faculty Fenlon Lamb.
