Composers Chen Yi and Zhou Long's Music Performed in NYC and Baltimore

Conservatory composition faculty Chen Yi and Zhou Long are always busy and their compositions are performed around the world throughout the year.

Both composers are honored in New York's Symphony Space in October. New York-Based Ensemble Music From China celebrates its 35th anniversary by paying tribute to distinguished composers Chen Yi and Zhou Long with a retrospective of their works commissioned by the group on Saturday Oct. 26, 2019, 7:30 p.m. As leading voices in contemporary Chinese music, the two composers helped to lay the groundwork for new music written for traditional instruments or with Western counterparts. The program represents some of the most iconic works by the composers that span nearly three decades of artistic collaboration with Music From China.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra celebrates Chen Yi by performing her Ge Xu (Antiphony) in its subscription concert series with conductor Xian Zhang, November 15, 2019, 8 p.m., Meyerhoff Hall, November 16, 2019, 8 p.m., Strathmore Music Center; and November 17, 2019, 3 p.m., Meyerhoff Hall.

Congratulations!
