The ABC’s of Writing Effective Progress Notes within Common Clinical Documentation Formats

Documentation is pertinent throughout the treatment process and is a Standard of Clinical Practice in music therapy. One area of documentation includes clinical progress notes, which can be formatted in various ways: SOAP, DAR, DARP, DART, DAROP, etc. Learn how to construct clinical progress notes using the aforementioned configurations for various clinical settings within music therapy. Progress note examples from music therapy sessions and related disciplines will be presented.
The Opioid Epidemic: Evidence-Based Practice, Policy, and Research in Music Therapy

The opioid crisis is the largest drug epidemic in American history and music therapy can provide treatment options. This presentation will review evidence-based practices in medical music therapy and addictions treatment, policy implications affecting music therapy funding, and future research needs.
