UMKC Conservatory's Composition DMA candidate Shaosheng Li has been named Music Director of the newly established China-ASEAN Culture & Art Week, which held its opening ceremony in Guilin, China, December 7, 2020.
Mr. Shaosheng Li is also appointed to fulltime position of Resident Composer of the China National Symphony Orchestra, Beijing, China, as of Dec. 11, 2020.
Additionally, Li's new composition The Splendid Promise, which he composed for the combination of a Western orchestra and a Chinese traditional instrumental orchestra, as well as a choir of 100 people with solo tenor and soprano, had its world premiere performance by the Guangxi Symphony Orchestra, the Guangxi Chinese Traditional Instrumental Orchestra, and the Guangxi Normal University Choir conducted by Muhai Tang.
