UMKC Conservatory composition alum Phil DeWalt (DMA, composition, 2017) has had one of his mandolin compositions selected for performance by the Arte Mandolinistica. The group performs Dr. DeWalt's Ouroboros Feb. 28, 2021 in the Osaka Concert 2021 “Arte’s Challenge Vol.5”, at the Toyonaka Performing Arts Center Main Hall, Japan. DeWalt's composition was chosen in an international call for original compositions.
