Virginia Q. Backman (MM flute performance 2009, DMA, flute performance, 2020) is having a CD release concert, presented as a live stream concert through BRC Audio Productions, Friday December 11, 2020 at 7 p.m. Dr. Backman's CD is titled Flying Solo: 21st Century Music for Unaccompanied Flute and features music by a number of UMKC alumni and former faculty. This album is the result of Backman's doctoral research and is available for sale through bandcamp.
