Undergrads Kyle Connolly and Cody Young Present Original Research

Kyle Connolly (BM, Clarinet Performance) and Cody Young (BME, Music Education and BM, Music Theory) were selected to present their original research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, March 24–26, 2020.

Kyle and Cody had their papers' abstracts competitively selected out of more than 4,000 submissions by a national faculty committee. Kyle’s paper is "Finland's Patriot Composer: a Semiotic Approach to Nationalism in Sibelius's Second Symphony" and Cody’s paper is "Exploring Hindemith's Harmonic Structures." Their faculty mentor is Dr. David Thurmaier (Chair, Division of Music Studies and Associate Professor of Music Theory).
