UMKC Conservatory jazz alum Hermon Mehari (BM, jazz performance, 2010) has spent the last several months of confinement in France working on a new album. Given many people's difficult financial situations due to covid, he has released it exclusively on Bandcamp, where it's free of charge, with the option to pay, if funds are available. Hermon notes that Bandcamp has a promotion to support artists where all revenue from sales goes directly to artists.
The album features Tony Tixier, Peter Schlamb, Ryan J. Lee, Hugo LX, Karl McComas-Reichl, DeAndre Manning, Zach Morrow, Jeff Hill, and Kae Dilla. Hermon notes it's his most personal work yet.
A Change for the Dreamlike is available here.
Hermon is a 2017 UMKC Alumni Spotlight Award winner.
Congratulations, Hermon.
