UMKC Saxophone Studio Performs at NASA 2020 Biennial Conference

The UMKC Saxophone Studio, led by Associate Professor of Saxophone Zachary Shemon, travels to Arizona State University, Tempe, to perform at the North American Saxophone Alliance 2020 Biennial Conference, March 2020. 

Shemon will perform Joel Love's Solace: A Lyric Concerto, with the Arizona State University Wind Orchestra at the opening concert.

Student John Wardlaw performs with Cameron Clements in Paradosis Duo. Dylan Ward and alum Dr. Ali Wright perform their duo program Hocket, celebrating living American composers working in minimalist-inspired styles. 

The Crossroads Quartet, comprised of sax students performs work by Amy Beach, arr. Mariah Goulet, and Kristofer Maddigan, arr. Jared Marble.

The entire UMKC Saxophone Ensemble performs work by John Zorn, Beethoven, and Kristofer Maddigan.

Finally, the members of the Pyrrhic Quartet, Rick Firestone, Caleb Allen, Dylan Ward, and John Wardlaw, compete in the semi-finals of the NASA Quartet Competition.
