Conservatory Faculty Nick Petrella and Bloch Faculty Andy Heise Launch a Podcast

Capitalizing on the success of their Arts Entrepreneurship courses at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, co-founders Nick Petrella and Andy Heise take their collaboration to the next level by launching the Arts Entrepreneurship Podcast: Making Art Work.

Their mission is to highlight how entrepreneurs align their artistry, passion and vision to create and pursue opportunities to capture value in the arts. “We recognize the need for arts-related content and thought a podcast would be an ideal medium to keep current,” Petrella says. “It’s entertainment that educates.”

Several subsets of people will find relevant information regardless of the genre being addressed: emerging artists, students, arts advocates and those with an idea for an arts-based product or service. “The podcast is perfect for those who want to create or participate in some aspect of the arts industry,” says Heise. “I envision educators using the podcast in their classes because each interview provides a different perspective from a leader in the arts.”

The first episode featuring jazz great Bobby Watson will be released Monday, November 2, 2020. You can find it on Apple Podcasts and Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
