David Thurmaier, Associate Professor of Music Theory and Chair of the Music Studies Division, has published "'Life Goes On' after Occupation: Czechoslovak Beatles Cover Versions after the Prague Spring, 1968–72" in the latest issue of Interdisciplinary Literary Studies, Vol. 22, nos. 1–2 (2020).
Dr. Thurmaier was a Fulbright Scholar at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic during the Spring 2018 semester. His research there focused on Czech music theory pedagogy, the music of Janácek, and the reception of the Beatles’ music during communism. He also is the co-host of “I’ve Got a Beatles Podcast,” an international podcast focusing on the music and history of the Beatles.
