Conservatory Welcomes Dr. Seokho Park, Assistant Professor of Voice

seokho-park.jpgAwarded “Super Rookie award” from the 15th Korea Opera Awards, Dr. Seokho Park recently sang Rodolfo from La bohème produced by the Korea Opera Festival. Dr. Park also has performed the leading roles including L’elisir d’amore, Rigoletto, L’incoronazione di Poppea, La tragédie de Carmen, La traviata, Così fan tutte, L’heure Espagnole, The Magic Flute, Cavalleria Rusticana, Les contes d'Hoffmann, Falstaff, and more across US, Canada, and South Korea.

Dr. Park earned his Bachelor’s degree at Korea National University of Arts and his Master’s degree at State University of New York at Binghamton where he started his opera career as a cooperative singer at the Tri-Cities Opera. Subsequently, he obtained his DMA at the University of Minnesota, broadening his musical experiences and academic pursuits. In Canada, he participated in the Canadian Operatic Arts Academy (COAA) and the Accademia Europea Dell'Opera (AEDO) program at Western University, studying in the ‘performance and literature’ program (M.M). 

Throughout his diverse musical experiences, including contemporary music, K-pop, and musical theatre, Dr. Park has amassed various stage experiences. He has received awards at numerous competitions and musical associations, and has also participated in esteemed programs including the Glimmerglass Festival Young Artists Program and the Canadian Opera Company Summer Intensive.
