The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to announce that two UMKC composers have won recognition of their orchestral works from the 2022 the 3rd Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival "Artinno" Award International Orchestral Composition Competition Final Round and Honorable Mentions Works.
Siqi Wang (MM 2021, DMA 2nd-year student) has won for Atomization for orchestra and Yiguo Yan (DMA 2019) has won for The Refractions of Light for orchestra. Yiguo Yan has just finished her post doc from Shanghai Conservatory. Their works are part of the six pieces that have reached the final and will premiere October 24, 2022 in the Music Hall of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, performed by Darrell Ang conducting the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra.
