Congratulations to UMKC Conservatory composers Siqi Wang (MM composition, 2021 and second year DMA student) and Dr. Yiguo Yan (DMA composition 2019) for winning the tied second prizes from the 3rd Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival "Artinno" Award International Orchestral Composition Competition (each of them will be awarded RMB 50,000).
There was a concert performance of all six finalists' works by the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zhang Chengjie in Hangzhou, China, Dec. 10, 2022. Siqi Wang's winning orchestral work is Atomization and Yiguo Yan's orchestral work is The Refractions of Light.
