Composition DMA Student Yunfei Li in The News

Third-year composition DMA student Yunfei Li's woodwind quintet piece 24/7, has been selected for performance by the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra as part of the 2022 Women Composers Festival of Hartford. Yunfei also composed this piece for the UMKC Fellowship Ensembles Composer-in-Residence program and it was premiered by the UMKC Conservatory Graduate Fellowship Woodwind Quintet: Plaza Winds, coached by Prof. Celeste Johnson, at the Musica Nova concert Sept. 2, 2020. 

Yunfei's clarinet solo piece, Hot Pot Suite was selected for The “Rising Artist Pre-Professional Showcases” on ClarinetFest® 2022. It will be played in June by Jackie Glazier, 2022 at Reno/Lake Tahoe, Nevada. This piece was commissioned by Jackie Glazier in 2021, and premiered at the concert “Reflection: The Music and Stories of Chinese Women Composers" at the University of Arizona, Fred Fox School of Music, Nov. 29, 2021.
