The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 Concerto/Aria competition.
Colton James, saxophone (4th year BM)
Kyam McCormack, bass trombone (1st year MM)
Aimee Stuart Flunker, soprano (1st year DMA)
Junyi Nie, piano (2nd year DMA)
Colton James will perform with the Conservatory Wind Symphony in the spring (date to be announced) and Kyam, Aimee and Junyi will perform March 5, 2022, 7:30 p.m. with the Conservatory Orchestra in White Recital Hall.
Thanks to all of the performers and to our guest judges, Mia Kim, Professor/Piano Area Coordinator at the University of Central Missouri, Scott Ramsey, voice faculty at DePaul School of Music, and Jason Seber, Associate Conductor of the Kansas City Symphony.
