UMKC Conservatory DMA pianist YiQiao Gao won Third Prize at the 13th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music in Chongqing, China. The competition was April 17–18, 2021 and she competed against 49 pianists in the semi-final round and 10 in the final round. She is a currently a 1st year DMA student studying with Thomas Rosenkranz.
