Conservatory faculty Karen Savage, Associate Professor of Collaborative Piano, was invited by her alma mater, The Juilliard School, to to speak to Juilliard's Collaborative Piano Studio, comprised of all graduate students (DMA, Artist Diploma, MM, and Advanced Certificate).
She spoke about her experiences and activities since graduating from Juilliard, shared her experiences as a student there, and did a Q and A about a life in collaborative piano. Dr. Savage holds a doctoral degree and two master’s degrees in both solo and collaborative piano from Juilliard, and a bachelor’s degree from Canada's University of Victoria. Active as a collaborative pianist, she has performed internationally in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall, Merkin Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre, and the Perlman Music Program in New York and Shanghai. Her performances have been broadcast on internationally syndicated NPR programs, and Vietnamese and Chinese national television. Dr. Savage is in demand as a presenter, adjudicator, and guest teacher. Her students are active in the field as performers and teachers, and have been awarded competitive graduate assistantships at major programs.
Congratulations!
