The UMKC Conservatory is pleased to announce that choreographer and entrepreneur Jawole Willa Jo Zollar (BA, dance, 1975) has been named a 2021 MacArthur Fellow. She was also the 2014 UMKC Alumna of the Year. Ms Zollar is the founder of Urban Bush Women and is the Lawton and Nancy Smith Fichter Professor in the School of Dance at Florida State University, Tallahassee.
The MacArthur Fellowships include "a $625,000, no-strings-attached award to extraordinarily talented and creative individuals as an investment in their potential."
