Non-credit private lessons and classes are taught by Conservatory music faculty, alumni and current graduate students in a fun, informative and supportive environment.

Private lessons

Those interested in private lessons enroll in weekly 30-, 45- or 60-minute lessons for the entire semester or, if enrolling mid-semester, for the remainder of the semester. Fall and Spring Semesters are 18-weeks, and the Summer Session is 9-weeks. All lessons are taught on the UMKC Conservatory campus.

All classes meet once a week at a predetermined time. Most group classes are 14- or 16-week sessions during the Fall and Spring Semesters, with eight-week sessions during the Summer.

Auditions are not required for lessons and most classes. Lessons cannot be paid for using UMKC tuition fees, and credit is not available for lessons or classes taken through the Academy.
