Attendance
To attend your weekly lessons well prepared. Your teacher will complete a weekly report showing your attendance and progress.
Absences
Students are allowed three absences per semester for any reason. In the event of a fourth absence, the student will be sent a warning letter. If a fifth absence takes place, the student will be let go from the program.
Preparedness
Students may also be sent a warning letter if their weekly reports show multiple weeks where the student was either late or unprepared. Students are expected to practice all assignments given by their teacher between lessons.
Academic
GPA
All students must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Students whose GPA drops below a 3.0 will have one semester to get their GPA back up. Students may be admitted to the program on a probation status if their GPA is below a 3.0.
School Ensemble
Be enrolled in an ensemble each semester (choir, band, dance, jazz band, orchestra, theater)
Performances
All students must take part in a performance at least once a semester. Performance opportunities vary from program to program and semester by semester. Please refer to the Academy calendar and your Bridges handbook for details about your program.
Jury/Final
All students will have a final at the conclusion of each semester to track their progress and set personal goals for the following semester. Most programs will have a jury as a final, which is a performance for a judge where the student receives written feedback. Other programs may include a written test.
Tuition and Scholarships
Tuition at the Academy is charged per semester.
Private Lesson Tuition
- 45-Minute weekly lessons (high school students) = $100 per semester due by student.
- This scholarship covers the remaining $780 of tuition.
- 30-Minute weekly lessons (middle school students) = $75 per semester due by student.
- This scholarship covers the remaining $525 of tuition.
Group Class Tuition
- 50-Minute weekly group class = $0 per semester due by student.
- This scholarship covers the entire $250 of group tuition per semester.
- Students may enroll in multiple group classes. Students must apply/audition for each individual class.
- An additional audition is required for acting and dance classes.
Communication
- Students are expected to communicate with their teacher in a timely manner about any scheduling issues.
- Students are expected to communicate with the Academy office in a timely manner and prior to deadlines about payments, special opportunities, and any scheduling issues that could affect their attendance at a required event (performance or final/jury).
- Students must make payments and sign up for events by assigned deadlines.
- Communication about payments, events, and deadlines will always be done via email. Due to this, students must provide us with an email address that is checked regularly.
- Poor communication/lack of communication about missed lessons, payments, required events or failure to sign up for required events by list deadlines may lead to probation or dismissal from the program.
- Failure to attend required events such as performances or juries will result in dismissal from the program.
