Keyboard studies programs
Offering degrees at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels, Keyboard Studies at the Conservatory provides you with opportunities to perform both on campus and in the surrounding community, including the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. UMKC is the only institution in Missouri with a doctoral program in music. Alumni of the program have gone on to hold positions in academic institutions around the world. You will gain experience playing solo recitals, studying chamber music, collaborating with students from other disciplines, teaching local students, competing in schoolwide competitions and participating in master classes with world-renowned guest artists. UMKC offers many opportunities for financial support, including scholarships and teaching assistantships. By living in Kansas City, students have access to a vibrant classical music community, including performances by the Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City Ballet, Lyric Opera of Kansas City and guest artists presented by the Harriman-Jewell Series and Friends of Chamber Music.

Bachelor of Music: Music Performance - Piano Option
The Master of Arts: Music degree allows students to maintain a broad course of study while also pursuing an Area of Concentration in Piano or Piano Pedagogy. In addition to the Area of Concentration, students have 8 elective credits to explore further interest areas. By the end of the degree, students synthesize new knowledge in a culminating final project, which could entail a research paper, recital, or professional presentation.
